Warranty query

We bought our E240 estate with fsh from Mercedes direct - secondhand -4 years ago.
They have replaced or repaired the front wheel arches due to rust under the 30 year warranty - but they have refused to accept any responsibility for the rust on the rear wing, as they have measured the depth of paint and say that it has been worked on before.
No mention of any previous damage was mentioned when we got the car.
Do we have any claim regarding this matter.

errr - very hard one to answer.
If they sold the car with full Mobilio and corrosion warranty then yes. However, I suspect it was simply implied or assumed and the used car dept didn't specifically state that the warranty was still in place.
You could try the 'Approved MB' argument and may get a contribution from the dealer but the overall cost may be in excess of what you'd pay if you just found yourself a good bodyshop.
