Hi guys. You probably have seen similar threads many times. I am new here and not found one yet (still getting the hang of it all).

So I have a cat N Mercedes A class 2.1 2017 A200d.... almost.

Minor damage to front bumper and passenger side wing which has been repaired by an Insurance Approved Garage.

Does being an Insurance Approved Garage hold any merit when it comes to the validity of the manufacturers warranty?

The advertisement for the car said “still under warranty until December 2020.”

Would that be true given that the repairs were not carried out by MB but by an “insurance approved garage”?

Thank you and take care.

I imagine you would get the most accurate answer by reaching directly out to Mercedes Benz UK about this.

I don't see how this should be any different to servicing. If the repair work is carried out to Mercedes specifications and uses original parents, they are legally obliged to honour the warranty. If an insurance company put cars for repair into a garage and in doing so, invalidated the warranty, you would have good grounds for a case against the insurer, so I don't think they would do it.

I suspect your corrosion warranty on the repaired panels is now void. Other components should be fine unless MB can show that there is a direct link to the accident / repair.

Yeh the garage who fixed the car said:
“As said, the parts used are genuine. Either way, it would not invalidate the entire warranty. It makes no difference either who has worked on the car.
It would have to be demonstrated that the issue being delt with under warranty was directly caused by the fitting of those parts.

There's not much in the way of issues which could possibly be caused by the replacement of a plastic bumper skin and one headlight no matter who fits them“..

seems about right I think...
