I need a new camshaft adjuster fitted to my vehicle. Mercedes are saying this is not covered under warranty (Mobilo-Life) as the car is older than 3 years. Is this true? Can I do anything about this?

Service Plus gives you virtually an extended guarantee up until year 6 or 120,000 miles whichever comes sooner.

The standard manufacturers warranty is 3 years.

MobiloLife gives you a free breakdown service and a 30 year rust guarantee -but is not an extended warranty.

You could write to MB, say you have fullMBSH, and that you think it should not have failed so soon and ask if they will contribute under 'goodwill'. They sometimes do. Or ask your MB dealer to put the case to Mercedes, which they usually will if you have serviced regularly with them.
