Hello all,

The heading says it all. Took the car (C180 auto, 2000 MY)to a manual car wash on Saturday. While driving back, noticed water flowing (more like dripping very fast) into the passenger footwell. Continued for about 5 minutes, now carpet is soaked. Has not happened since, have taken car out twice since then -no water drip noticed.

The carpet is still wet. I have not tried to dry it fully yet so don't know if it's still being soaked.

Questions are why did this happen? What (if anything) could be wrong? Have taken the car to same carwash many times and they did nothing different this time.

Also noticed after parking car on arrival from the carwash, a 'singeing' sound like water was dripping onto something hot in the bonnet. Looked in the bonnet but could not determine where the water was dripping from or onto.

If anybody can throw some light onto this I'll really appreciate it.

Thanks.

the first thing id check is the water drain right in the corner under the bonnet hinge - it can get filled with leaves at this time of year. usea hoover with a long extenstion pipe..
