Water Leak--320 E-Series Coupe

All,

With last night's downpour, I've got water appearing in the boot of my 320CE.

It's dripping from a point on the underneath of the parcel shelf, just below the speaker.

I've noticed the rubber seal at the top corners of the rear windscreen has a small gap in it..............have I found the source of the leak, or would that be too easy?

Anyone had this problem and fixed it?

Yep that'll be the problem,leaking from the rear window seal - got same problem on my 190E, haven't got a solution yet but there should be something on here I have read of other people having same problem, Halfords do a temp(bodge) repair kit for window seals have got some to try will let u know if its any good.

Window seals arent v expensive from the dealer, best to get it changed... It will be the labour that costs you more to change...

Guys,

Quick update: Fixed it!

It WAS the windscreen rubber pulling away from the body at the top.

As a diagnostic fix, I dribbled some RTV silicon into the gap..........since then, no leak!

When I get round to it, I'll dig-out the translucent RTV (all I had at the time) and put in some black stuff to make a proper job of it.......
