Just remembered.
I was driving the Merc down the town tonight when I noticed the sound of water rushing up and down the car.
Me thinks it was in the door.(blocked drain holes and all that) Nope!
Then me thinks it can only be in the sill.
Yep!
Pulled out the large bung at the front of the sill adjacent to the jacking point and lo and behold about 3 pints of clear water came out.
How could this have got there in the first place. I'm at a loss. Any ideas?

That is where the sunroof drains exit, if you look at the drain there is just a slot cut in the rubber to allow water to drain out,it can close up and the water backs up in the drain. It's a good idea to stick a finger into the exit points under the sills occassionally.
