Weird cable W126 280SE 84

Hello,

I am changing sway bar bushes and fixing brakes on my sad 1984 W126 (LHD). I found this cable looking lost and disattached next to the fuse box. It apparently has some electrical components embedded inside a heat shrink. Part of the cable is shrouded. There are 2 x brown and 2 x black wires towards the heat shrunk part. The cable joins a big harness entering fuse box with single black and brown.

Any idea what it may be?

I'll check, this is a 1984 so if it has those would be cool, I mean heated...

Star! I think you got it right.

There is indeed a system inside the bonnet with two pairs of not-connected wires and connectors, all hidden from plain sight. Colours of the wires are the same as in the mystery cable.

Getting that system working goes to the backlog as item 73. Good to know I do not need to worry about that wire.
