hello my 1st posting .. can you help please..
i own a w123 230E.. a few weeks ago i started to get a strange knocking comming from the drivers side of the car .. ive changed the steering box as it needed doing.. but this noise occurs in 3 different ways .. the 1st being on a lefthand lock.. the 2nd caused by braking slowly or heavily.. and the 3rd is in idle .. its almost as if something was knocking onto the body work under the front drivers side wheel arc . and i get a almost metalic disk rubbin sound ocassionaly.. ive looked under the car on the drivers side but cant find anything loose.. it dosent occur when turning right .. the wheel dosent have any movement in the bearing .. so im absoutely stumped .. and i dont really want to take it into mercedes .. specially the rates they charge ... all i can think of is i might of damaged the hub in some way as i have a fairly big curb to go up .. but i do take it slow.. help pls .. regards
