This is what happens.....

Start the engine, oil warning light goes out.
Drive for aprrox 6 mins ( roughly 2,500 rpm )( 40 - 50 mph ) oil warning light comes on.
Carry on driving and in 2 minutes it will go out.
Then no matter how long the journey is, it will not come on again. - and yes, the oil is toppeed up. Changed with the filter 6,000 miles ago

oil pressure or level warning light? if level warning, id guess a non genuine filter was used. its a common problem if that is the case and easily rectified with a genuine filter costing about £1.50 more than a cheap cr@ppy one

We have a sprinter the warning light comes on on a longer journey at motorway speeds...to say too much oil.

I'm not sure if high oil level warning was fitted to sprinters that early as its the older shape.
