Hi

When I washed my car today at the hood the headlight washers sudenly came out and emptied the fluid and the pump kept running, so I disconnected the battery. Opened the Hood to try figure out the problem. Some water poured down from hood into front Sam ( I have no plastic cover over fuses - just bought the car) I thought it was so little water and didnt mind.

After 15 min I reconnected battery, But now when I inserted key to ignition 1 the horn constantly was sounding. Alarm? Again disconnect battery. Tried again starting car - this time it started but now I could not shut the car off. Pulled out key with som warning lights in dash, engine still running. Had to pull a relay on front SAM. Windshield Whipers sometimes started operating randomly.

Have I messed up my front SAM ?

Possibly not. I’ve seen them wet before, the horn constantly sounding is common. If you can dry it out it might be ok. Depends how many times it has been wet.

Common issue on 210 as well. Please procure the cover for that SAM device ASAP and preferably allow it to air dry for a few days before sealing it back up. There is often times a foam seal around the cover that would trap moisture in, so make sure it is nice and dry before sealed off.

Its an import from Dubai. Basically never rain there. Just sorted the foam behind backlights (Was coming in rain in trunk)
Will fix the cover in engine.

Car is working normal now once dry.
