Well, I went and did it.!

Thanks to this Forum - and all the helpful advice I received - I am now the proud owner of my SECOND Mercedes

The car is a 1998 S320L, Business Edition with FMBSH and has only covered 65K miles.

Bought in Manchester and driven down to Hounslow this afternoon. WHAT A LOVELY CAR - I am WELL pleased

Thanks to all who contributed.

p.s. - I quickly found out it had the soft-close option - superb.

Now off to read the Owner's Mannual, so I can play with all the toys

So far, so good - No, I don't regret not getting the 500. Nice to have, but in reality you can only go as fast as the car in front - and that moves VERY slowly in and around the M25/M4/M40. On balance, I am very pleased.

I see what you mean - good move.!

By the way, I have never seen SO many E and S-class cars in the City, as there are at the moment. Nearly all with 'chauffers' sat in them on double yellows.!!

In all fairness, I think BOTH are superb. Each is totally different to the other, and suits perfectly the different use they are put to. (Hope that makes sense)
