What are the symptoms of a faulty waterpump? Oh and btw heater matrix.

Sometimes a water pump can be noisy usually if the bearings are failing usually if the bearings are on the way out you can feel play in the fan if it's mounted on the pump. The pump can also just develop a leak from it's land or seal, the coolant comes from a tell tale leak off hole under the pump. Sometimes you get both ie noisy bearings and a leak.
As for the heater matrix leaking you usually notice a hard to trace loss of coolant the usual giveaways are smell of coolant in tha car and damp carpets depending on how heavy the leak.
