What do we think about white then?

It seems to be the colour of the moment, and in fact quite by chance I currently own two white cars (having never had one in over 20 years of motoring before).

I personally think big Mercs look spot on in silver or a darker colour such as blue or black, but I've seen a few up for sale in white recently, and after you get over the initial thoughts of 'wedding car' I must say it's a colour that is growing on me, especially when the car underneath is clean and rust free and clearly well looked after.

Any thoughts about this and what colours best suit certain models? I know we had discussions recently about red as a colour.

White has gone big time in the USA, talking to my local dealer, they said when someone asks for one they will get it in,but never hold one in stock

I thought white was out and silver was in, even the police now get silver cars as they are easier to sell than a white one.
would say a merc looks ok in white but red.....

C63 looks the biz in white I think. Not brave enough to own a white car myself though. I have to wash my cars every day as it is!

I've had a white car too, never ever again.
OK in hotter drier climates, useless in UK.

My W124 220TE is white and it always looks great after ive washed it. Dont really like white though, colour is something that suits the shape I think, I also think the car makers decided that white was the new silver and sort of forced it upon us rather than asked us.
As a result I think in the next few years we will see white cars forsale at even cheaper prices.

I am fortunate in being down here in South Africa... pretty good weather most of the year. And with my job I have a lot of time off... So I wash my car often. Looks great then.

White is great in a hot climate like Oz. Never fades or deteriorates and is much cooler inside when locked up in the sun. Wouldn't have anything else. Metallics don't last in our climate - (silver is the worst). Max 7 years and need repainting, particularly if not garaged. White goes forever with an occasional polish, maybe once a year.

white? in wet miserable weather we get? snow even here today! add to that living in a rural (ish) area with farm sh*t all over the roads and the road salt? white is a definate no for me!

I will take back what i said about white as it does seem the "in" colour now, just look at the new cars at the geneva motor show..
