Hi, this is my first post as I am about to buy my first benz, I have seen a C230k on a 97(P) plate with 168,000 miles, FMSH, but with a bit of surface rust for £1500 and was wondering if anyone thought it sounds good enough to go for. I am going to get the rust sorted if I get it and have it looking mint again. I am thinking the mileage is pretty high but its not that high for the age and type of car.

Please can you give your opinions as I am new to Mercedes cars and want to buy the best one I can afford.

Also I've only got £2000 to spend so I realise I can't get anything to new.

Cheers,
Powely.

If the car drives well with no faults, and there could be lots of life in it, the body parts and any rusy issues can be dealt with as you use it. it depends where the rust is as to how well you can lose it or repair, also the colour £1500 on a P plate does not sound to bad, but it may pay you to ask around about any rust issues that you cannot do yourself. it could work out cheaper to find a car in little better condition to start with.

Hi, thanks for the reply, The colour is dark green, almost a blackish colour and the rust is just on the side of the car under the molding between the back wheel and back door and there are a copule of other surface spots, think the side of the car needs spraying too and the bonnet buffing up. Still sound ok for the money?

Cheers,
Powely
