What does LIM do on the cruise control stick?!

Hi,

My 08 M Class has LIM on the cruise control stick - if you push it in it comes on and then push it in again and it goes off.

But what the hell does it do?!

Speed limiter, set it to say 50mph and drive the car, when you reach said speed the car will not go any faster. Do not use it much myself.

Could I suggest you spend a bit of time reading the manual; seems there are perhaps aspects of the functionality of your car that you maybe missing out on.

I never read the manual until Ive had it a few weeks. That way you get the excitement of self discovery and when you think you've got it all, into the manual for all the clever tricks you missed.
Discovered that the stereo in the freelander displays album and track names from an MP3 CD the other week after trawling the manual.

The Becker Monza we had in our W202 C43 did that too. Makes the Audio10 unit in our new CLK55 seem very basic! Just trying to decide what to replace it with.

I've tried to look up a few different things in the manual but find it quite hard to read with bits written in pigeon english (translated from German?) and other parts applying to different models/packs/addons that I don't have

I'm sure you realise this, but for the OP: It will go faster if you floor the gas pedal.

I find it's quite handy in motorway contraflows etc - set it for 52 (speed changes in 5MPH increments if you move the stalk one way and 1MPH increments if you move it the other) and you're not unduly holding up people who are also nudging a little over 50.
