Three years ago today, the wheel fell off our CL. Three days ago, the diagonally opposite wheel burst....................

The worst thing about driving on a dual carriageway, or motorway, with the top down are all the diesels. I tend to put the roof up unless I am on a nice single carriageway preferably in the countryside.

I do normally but wanted to make the most of our last sunny days this year, also I had just finished a rather tense sales meeting and wanted to switch off and nothing does it better than roof off motoring!

Agreed, I've walked past mine a few times today - it needs some motion lotion so might take it for a blast

Put the E Class in the garage to give it a full clean underneath after the weekend's little outing at Silverstone.

This meant moving my little 190E outside. It's currently under the carport looking clean and shiny, so I'm going to give it an hour or so to let the traffic die down and then take it out for a blast around a few lanes to blow the cobwebs off it.

Took it to our local Eastern European crowd to have it washed. Have been back from Provence now for nearly three weeks but haven’t got round to washing it. Heavy rain in northern France had gently washed off the Provençal dust but there were still a lot of dead French insects on the front!

When I got home I vacuumed the inside and gave the front leather a good clean.

That was cheap, I passed a filling station on my way to Biggleswade in Bedfordshire last Saturday and it was £1.44.9ppl and I thought that was extortionate. The one that 00slk quotes is just un-believable, I am sure he would have got only got just enough to get home.

My local BP is 135.9p for premium unleaded but if I go 3 miles down the road its 129.9p.

There were a few services charging that amount, needless to say yes only put in enough to get us to hopefully a cheaper station.

Swithering on whether to take the Panzer this weekend up to Melrose (wife’s birthday ) or take the XC90...
There are pros and cons on both- the XC90 will be cheaper to run and is a nice drive, also the weather will be a bit crepe all weekend so the Panzer wouldn’t be able to show off..
Against that the A7 is a fairly nice road.....
Talking myself into the XC90 though I think
