That’s awful for you and so sorry to see your poor car. I suppose if you hadn’t been concentrating and driving so well, you might have wiped out the whole family and done a lot more damage to the car so well done for the anticipation.

That is exactly what happened to a friend of mine many years ago at Woburn Abbey. When this happened the park was quiet enough to be able to throw the deceased Dear in his boot and make himself scarce !!

Good to hear it was only minimal damage for both parties.
I hit a full grown deer on the road to Royston in the Mercedes, luckily I did see out of the corner of my eye this speeding shape hurtling from the trees at 10pm and used the brake to slow, it stopped right in front of me (stupid thing) then it bucked to the right and his hoof hit my headlamp and he ran off! £250 for a new light. Luckily I didn't have to pay for that, company insurance did.

I had a very close call a few years back on the road from Faslane to Arrochar.
I was driving my S70 T5 and a stag jumped out in front of me. I jumped on the brakes and he must have realised 2 ton of Volvo was going wreck his day and started to run in the same direction I was going. If he hadn't moved I'd have hit him for sure.
Certainly gave the heart a good work out!

Probably ..... the thing is the car will always bleep when parking on a car park due to pathetically little space, so you don't always take any notice of them. Complete inattention on my part. :-(

You're a brave man Peter. At least when I changed the shocks etc... on Swmbo's Un-Merc last weekend the thermometer was the right side of zero.

Don't forget to count your fingers and toes once you are back in the house.
