VW Scirocco. The Quattro, E350 CDi Blue Efficiency Sport Coupe, now both gone
My car passed it's MOT today. Mercedes Hindhead collected the car from my home (8 miles each way), conducted the MOT, washed and vacd the car then returned it home. Total cost £20.00. They even sent me a video of tyre & brake inspection with commentary. This is outstanding value and service. Thank you Mercedes Benz.

Aww Mac.... you just put a downer on my day sir. I thought I was doing well at £35 for my MOT today and she passed too.

Unfortunately I had to drop it off myself.
I never got to watch a video of the work being attended to either and then had to pick it up for the return journey, plus they thoroughly confused me with a couple of advisories the explaination of which made no sense to me at all.
But hey! It passed! That's the important part.

Put £80 worth of Tescos finest into it ready for a day out at Center Parcs Woburn Bedfordshire tomorrow.
The weather looks nasty for a 7am start:(

I hope you have your Sou' wester packed, because according to the forecast you'll need one. :(

Replaced the Nearside Ball Joint and CVJ boot.....finally, no creaking and knocking...

See my DIY if you need to know just how much work it was!

For CVJ boot, I used the "Stretchy" type which means no disassembly of the joint. Fantastic invention, I'm never going back to the old-fashioned "take everything apart" ones!

Put some new wheel centre caps on this afternoon. The old ones were on there for 22 months and weren't that bad as it happens. Both the new ones and the old ones had MB part numbers on them so I am just hoping that these last as long as the old ones !! :D DSCF0254.JPG

Not what I did to my Mercedes today but a friends a few days ago, so I've failed on the criteria but anyway.
Changed the rear air springs on his E Class after a few months of sagging after having checked absolutely everything else for leaks. Went smoothly less than an hour a side, only needed to take off the bolts on the lower end of the anti-roll bar drop link, the suspension arm bolt to the hub and the bolt on the bottom of the spring. Levered it out enough to disconnect the air and electric connectors and replaced with the new one.
He says a big improvement in the suspension ride and no more sagging over night in the last 6 days.
If only repairs went as well on mine!
