Nice fun drive from Congleton to Buxton to Glossop then over Holme Moss and home.

In “S” to enjoy the drive and speed limiter on to not upset the cameras

Middle of January is not normally the time of year to enjoy those roads in a spirited manner but this afternoon was great. Not much traffic, decent visibility and great views.

Some of my favourite roads there BC (at least they were before someone flytipped a whole heap of cameras).

There’s some average ones up there now (50mph) sad really but so few know how to drive these days and roads like that need to be driven.

One of the most enjoyable drives I've had was a midwinter midnight run across the Snake Pass in an original Audi S3. 17 minutes of pure pleasure from the edge of Glossop to the edge of Sheffield back before cameras even existed.
Impossible now with all the cameras.

Where did you get it from? (thinks... Might be useful...)

Bought it from another W212 owner on the other forum. He bought two thinking he could fit both.
There are two square cutouts in the metalwork in the boot to specifically take the hook.

Will be up there tomorrow! Sadly, not with my car though. Only way I get to drive there is in a Defender 110, dragging a fuel bowser!

The "other car" failed to start this morning (always notice it's the other car when something goes wrong) on investigation battery flat because of various devices left on for a day! Not wanting to jump start from the other "other car" Merc I thought as the 12 year old battery changed out two weeks ago was there I'd use that and it started first turn.
So I stuck the charger on it and after less than two hours it was showing a full charge. Something to be said for big AH batteries, I'll hold on to it over the winter in case of another other car problem!

Despite suggestions on another thread that had me all fired up for an oil change on the CLK , I ended up with a quicker job , 1 hour in total .
Put the CLK up onto ramps at the back , and sprayed most of a can of Dinitrol into and onto the rear subframe .
Managed to get some onto the largely hidden rear brake pipes that run above all the underneath gubbins.
Another 2 days of sunny weather forecast to get the oil change in :D

Nice day for a top down drive around West Yorkshire, not much better than a nice sunny day, a tank full of motion lotion and a nice clean car...

I have washed it as I’d been in a quarry with it last week so it was a bit in need of a bucket...
