Bit dim here!
Moved the car this morning to make room for a delivery later and the lights came on. Thought the sensor was playing up, turned the lights off auto and locked the car, lights came on.
Another problem I thought.
Turns out it's dark here at 8.00am.
Just found out who's dim!

Took it to get the parking brake adjusted - travels too far up - only to find the rear left parking brake cable needs replacement - the spring is broken. The main and the right ones are okay.

Was quoted £268 parts and £200 labour

Got back home, fired up EPC, called MB Northampton - side parking brake cable is £20.64 incl. VAT.
Ordered both left and right and the main one with new threaded bushing adjuster - £75 with the discount they give me for good behaviour

I doesn't look like I'll be going back to the place, which quoted me £468 for this job ...o_O

Somewhere in Northampton? If it's the one I'm thinking of I had a similarly expensive quote for something on the 129.

The chap was staring really hard at the screen, while punching some, I suspect random keys o_O

I had a free RAC vehicle health check done there, and was pretty happy with the way it was handled, so booked the car for parking brake adjustment (was advisory on previous MOT) ... different chap at the controls, entirely different experience (same very nice and methodical mechanic).

Anywhere around Encon Court, Owl Close, Moulton Park? ;)
I would be very interested to find out as local to me, so I can avoid!
It could've been an honest mistake ... although even I know, a section of parking cable shouldn't cost anywhere near that much.

The 169 had its front springs replace yesterday, both were broken on some local roads while I’d been away and really did rattle like buggery.
Now just have to get the tracking done again,

I had the OSF spring snapped in half two years ago, whilst the car was parked up for a couple of days ... and it wasn't in the usual bottom of the spring weak point, oh no - right in the middle! ... had this happened on a motorway

It destroyed the top mount ball bearing too:

Replaced both the front springs and the mount, at Parkham Garage, and then the rear ones for a good measure - with Alastair's help. :)

Stayed late at work and finally sorted my 190e. Raised the front slightly as it was too low, and rubbing. Also swapped oem AMG alloys on, and took the clones off.

After: 20200222_161704.jpg

Much better IMO.
