Almost... starting with a capital letter would be nice
As an aside the damn machine was even more difficult to start yesterday morning. Finally after much dismantling found a cracked fuel hose just inside the rubber grommet as it enters the fuel tank, so indeed there was "air getting in". That and adjusting the magneto properly has it now running and starting as it should.Right you are Sir, make sure there's petrol in the machine.........
It was @John Laidlaw demanding full stops. I merely requested a capital to startAs an aside the damn machine was even more difficult to start yesterday morning. Only problem now is I have to use it

Washed, hoovered and ready for a piggy back ride to Tonbridge
Broke down driving it up onto the deck, good start as it will give Alex a first fault for Monday View attachment 58453

I guess you did not have the Rover V8 transplant in it, always fancied a Stag but V6s a nightmare. These cars look wonderful. even on a trailer.
In 1979 I owned a three yr old Triumph Stag. It was yellow.
It looked best on the AA transporters, as they frequently carted it away for breakdown repair.
It just looked like part of a set.

It had the original engine which was usually described as two Dolomites spliced together. I'm sure it was a V8. It made a lovely rumble and the exhaust sounded as though it was gargling fuel. Just a delightful noise. 17mpg.I guess you did not have the Rover V8 transplant in it, always fancied a Stag but V6s a nightmare.

Love that car.Got shopping lists from four of my elderly neighbours and took a top-down ride to M&S. Bliss. View attachment 57486
Yes V8 and 2 dolomite engines is pretty much exactly what they were.It had the original engine which was usually described as two Dolomites spliced together. I'm sure it was a V8. It made a lovely rumble and the exhaust sounded as though it was gargling fuel. Just a delightful noise. 17mpg.
Yes V8 and 2 dolomite engines is pretty much exactly what they were.
The major issue with them was a poor cooling system.
I believe the favourite transplant option in NZ was the P76 V8 - essentially a Rover 3.5 taken out to 4.4 litres by using a long stroke crank.
