What after last nights drama with the leeks, which Madame cured easily with a vinaigrette, I thought there couldn't be any more problems with the car but checking this evening there is a draught in the boot.
I suspect I'll be able to fix this by myself:):p WP_20200519_003.jpg

Right you are Sir, make sure there's petrol in the machine.........
As an aside the damn machine was even more difficult to start yesterday morning. Finally after much dismantling found a cracked fuel hose just inside the rubber grommet as it enters the fuel tank, so indeed there was "air getting in". That and adjusting the magneto properly has it now running and starting as it should:):):):).
Only problem now is I have to use it:(:(:(:(
Oh, here's a fullstop for Blobcat  .

It was @John Laidlaw demanding full stops. I merely requested a capital to start

Gave the old girl first bath of yr. Not bad for near 20 yr old Feb 21..yup there has been treatment to surface rust on arches, never allowed to get near a hole and no I don't have correct match in can and can't seem to get. Its my fav, reliable, fairly simple to fix and about last in my view prior to Dtf to date I have not replaced a sensor unless u include the MAF that blew after fitting new batt and not having load on prior to start.
Ful image, thumb nail don't do old girl justice

Can I join in with the photos :D
Washed, hoovered and ready for a piggy back ride to Tonbridge
Broke down driving it up onto the deck, good start as it will give Alex a first fault for Monday View attachment 58453

These cars look wonderful. even on a trailer.

In 1979 I owned a three yr old Triumph Stag. It was yellow.
It looked best on the AA transporters, as they frequently carted it away for breakdown repair.
It just looked like part of a set.

I guess you did not have the Rover V8 transplant in it, always fancied a Stag but V6s a nightmare.

It had the original engine which was usually described as two Dolomites spliced together. I'm sure it was a V8. It made a lovely rumble and the exhaust sounded as though it was gargling fuel. Just a delightful noise. 17mpg.

Yes V8 and 2 dolomite engines is pretty much exactly what they were.
The major issue with them was a poor cooling system.

I believe the favourite transplant option in NZ was the P76 V8 - essentially a Rover 3.5 taken out to 4.4 litres by using a long stroke crank.

The Buick V8 was the favourite transplant here too. I think most of them were left at 3.5 Ltrs though as they were only replacing a 3 Ltr lump. :)

Did you see David Oxton racing his P76 at Pukekohe in 75? I think it was the GTX series, however in one of his races the exhaust broke and gave him more hp, so I was told?
I went to buy a P76 Executive (really thought they were the bees knees) after driving it I thought, glad I drove one before buying one  as we say in NZ 'what a dunger'.....:(
