Ordered a replacement headlight for the S204, once it's here the car will be going to Alex at AMF for service and headlight change - another unexpected dent in the wallet (the headlight and change, not the service!).

had a nice roof down blast on the motorway - at some quite decent speeds - arrived at our chosen take away destination. picked up chosen take away food. got in car. started up. got the dreaded ‘ABC drive carefully‘ warning on the dash.

heart sank (again, after ‘car too low‘ warning two weeks ago). switched off, restarted, and we are all fine once more. worries me slightly... but the car was happy to have its ride height raised on the drive up the track home...

any history of this glitchy behaviour? or will it soon be a trip to the garage and an empty wallet...

praying it’s just a hiccup

Did you know how the wet stuff got in there in the first place pal ?

It has a tendency to dribble bembo through the C pillar seals. Never has it made it's way to the floor. Due to perfectly intercepted by statistically place bathroom towel :D

AMF kindly heard out my ABC woes this morning and sounds like it may need its system flushed. going to enquire with some local MB autoficine next week, but in the meanwhile I managed to locate some Febi (no pentosin unfortunately) this morning to plug the drop in the fluid level.
feeling a bit less panicked now ... :)

For the first time since February, filled it with the devil's fuel, diseasel, in readiness for a trip to friends in Essex shortly. Where we will socially distance and enjoy a catch up.

This will be the longest journey in 4 months.

Finally got to take my e350 for a decent drive, a 95 mile early morning round trip down through the nice open roads of West Lancashire to Liverpool and then back home via the M6. The more I drive this car the more I like it. The power delivery is effortless and the steering and handling are both better than any car I’ve ever driven. Everything feels taught and very well put together, and I’m definitely not missing my 3.0 Jag XF any more.

I also fitted a new passenger footwell luggage net, and replaced one of the clip/brackets which the net attaches to and which was missing from the car when I bought it, as was the net. The clip cost £1.90 from Marshalls in Preston. These are selling for up to £15 on eBay, minimum £6, so this slightly cushioned the blow of having to spend £22 on the tiny bit of rather standard cargo net.

I don’t need to tell you Steve, it’s a seriously good car. I’ve still got to get the lumbar adjusters fixed once and for all, and the new grille fitted, but hopefully by this time next week it’ll be minty.

Drove back from sunny Wales last night ,gorgeous drive through the Snowdonia mountains , almost no traffic and what there was was swiftly despatched :D . Rest of the journey was cruise control with 1980’s traffic levels .
That new A14 is one impressive piece of engineering .
Even after nearly 10 years with the E class I am still blown away by the engine , it is utterly effortless and the usable ooomph from 40-70 mph never ceases to amaze me . All that and 40+mpg !
Anyway , enough about me
