Hang on a minute, do my eyes deceived me
Is that a locking wheel nut BC??? o_O
It is, I left it there just for you :p
My eldest has my smart (which is why I’m servicing it...) He lives in Brum with on street parking and there has been car stripped on the street (mainly Corsa’s) so for the time being we’ve left them on.
Thankfully it was only the normal bolts which were tightened by an ape.

Tried to do Mrs RH's MINI brakes a while back, and even with the MINI-supplied wheel wrench and full weight of car on wheel, I was spinning the wheel but not able to loosen the nut. A garage had to destroy it to remove it.

To be fair MrsLK's Mini is actually quite good but it is the Cooper S variant with the 2 litre BMW engine.
Has it hit the 45,000 mile point at which the gearbox turns into slightly melted Brie yet?

It’s the manual boxes that have the problems, my brother owned 12 of them (ran a driving school) and they all felt like stirring pudding bowls at mid- 40k, even his own personal car.

This is MrsLKs 8th Mini. Never had a problem with any of them.

Mrs L's Mini is only a Cooper with the 1.5 3 cylinder BMW engine but still a great drive. This one also has the 8-speed DCT BMW box but we had no trouble with her previous manual Cooper in the nine years she had it.

Just be aware that door mirror indicator wires in the main door harness have a habit of breaking, and can be a bit of a swine to fix. Plus the door disassembly procedure is around half an hour in itself!

got given a rental Mini convertible on holiday last year - great little car! fun do drive and nifty roof.

back in Benzworld today the odometer clicked over to 4000 miles since I purchased it 5 months ago. I suppose that's not bad going but I'm going to need to give my insurers a ring soon and talk to them about the mileage...

actually speaking of which I can't believe it's been five months.

Been there myself. Totally different setup altogether. The 215 door harness has work hardening issues (it’s a bad design).
