I've put some 3 in 1 oil on there at the moment, that is all I have
I used Lithium grease on mine which also work....stops the threads binding which will definitely happen on those anodised blue ones!

My W210 wouldn’t move without TC off, it would then light them up :p
Errr..not wishing to display my ignorance , but what or where is the"TC" you mention ? I always assumed that it stood for Torque Converter when mentioned in the same context as MB????

Yes its a good idea to use some kind of lubricant between the caps and the valve. Brass threading on the valve and metal caps do not exactly have a harmonious relationship. I had a nice matching set on mine too, but in the end, went back to the standard plastic caps.

Ah, yes Andy. Thanks. Now its clear, and TC does not go well with icy/ snow covered roads ...:)

Last Saturday I popped into the Office, on the way the Tyre Pressure Sensor pinged telling me that the nearside front tyre was low on pressure. I went to the Tyre Centre close to the office to pump the tyre up, however I couldn't shift the dust cap, it was on solid. :(

At the office I found a pair of pliers and after much struggling and completely destroyed dust caps they finally came off. Never experienced that before. Went back to the Tyre Centre and was able to check all of the tyres and adjust the pressure. :)

Looked on Fleabay and found a set of Metallic Blue one that would match the Brilliant Blue on the car, neat eh :)

After reading advice from someone on here, I now have a reminder on my diary to turn the valve caps on both cars every couple of moths. They usually turn easily but, every so often, there is one that sticks a bit so it is worth doing especially now I tend to use the dash display to check the pressures rather than doing it the old way.

Metal caps nearly always fuse onto the valve thread IME, plastic caps don't.

60 litres in the tank and 5L in a can?
No, all in the tank. Quoted capacity is usually conservative. I’d been on low warning since last night and covered another good few miles

I filled my ML up the other day, paid at the pump so could 'only' have £99 max ...... it got to £99 before the tank was full

weren't your feet a little bit wet?
No, I stamped it in ;)

Although this leads me to my one and only annoyance with with SLK... No matter how full I get the tank the gauge drops off of full within 15-20 miles of driving no matter how gentle I drive. I'm easily getting mid 400's miles on a tank (~32 mpg) so no issues with range or the gauge not working correctly. I'd just like it to have a longer delay on the very first movement of the needle.

Yes I know, very much a first world problem
