Do you have a similar before picture, I've been looking for a picture set like this for years, are you happy with the result and how did you approach the job...?

Before wasn’t that different , but I keep the car in good condition by cleaning and proofing the roof at least twice a year , normally spring and autumn .
I cleaned the roof the day before with a dilute APC and a soft bristled brush , rinsed well with water . Sometimes if there is any green mould I use Milton baby bottle sterilising tablets first .
Renovo black was painted on using a 3-4 inch brush , I don’t tape anything up anymore because I’ve done the job nearly 30 times before . I keep a wet microfibre cloth close at hand for drips .
Let that dry for a couple of hours and then finished with same size brush and Fabsil waterproofing to finish .

That's very handy information, one of mine could do with a refresh, thought I'd try Renovo had some here for ten plus years.
I have a new folding roof and bits and pieces, so if it turns out bad it is just a matter of getting them all fitted.

Gave the S204 a quick hose off then wash and hose off, first time it's had a wash since just before Xmas, now watching it dry and realising I did not get rid of all the muck on the tailgate - rats!!

Took the E55 for its MOT. All good with no advisories.

All fluids change up next...

I have only covered 1100 miles between MOT’s.. need to get out and begin to enjoy it. Have just been doing a fortnightly run to Chichester and back (40 miles) to keep it and me happy.

Gave the E class a quick freshen up , decon spray , then snow foam followed by Chemical Guys shampoo

Popped the E350cdi on charge with the CTEK MXS 7.0 which took a 4 hour charge to top the battery up. I’m really impressed with this battery charger gives a much faster charge than the MXS 5.0

Touched up the stone chips on the front bumper as a temp measure till I can get it sprayed. And fixed the broken trim on the passenger's seat. Still got a long list of little fixes to get through.

Changed the supercharger oil on the CLK , only managed a change of 80ml , but it was a nice sunny day so we will treat that as a success. I didn’t have the ideal small pipe which is small enough to get in there and flexible enough to manoeuvre.
Used Mobil Jet Oil , I have had a tin on the shelf for ages . I think I last changed it at 50k miles and now I’m on 85k

Managed to lubricate the sun visor rails - they were so stiff you could barely pull them down. Now they swing down as smooth as silk.

Well you learn something every day! I had no idea that blowers had their own oil. Good job I don't have one - it would have seized up years ago.

S211 serviced. New filters, oil and a reprogramme of anything that needed doing



Not so good was this horrendous water leak
Only just happened has we put the car in position for lifting it into the air, poor EClass, must have been scared of heights and we'd herself
6 litres of antifreeze on the workshop floor.
Filled it up after the service, drove it for 1/2 hr to bring everything up to temperature so the transmission could be checked and no more leaks.
New pump ordered
