UnMerc - 2020 VW Polo 2.0t GTi Plus, DSG. Flash Red, Traditional VW GTi Tartan seat trim.
After my success with cleaning the UnMerc yesterday, I tried the GLC today and now I have two nice clean cars.

All I can say is that I must be spending too much time reading this forum because I think I actually enjoyed cleaning and polishing it  and may even give it a go again sometime!

Strangely it is a job I enjoy too. I think it's something I got from my Father, he used to leather off his car before he put it in his garage every time he used it regardless of the weather. For me I find the job rewarding :)

Had the engine mounts changed today at 226k miles, what a difference made to the car! Both old mounts where flat!! Gearbox mount was done at 190k miles... should have the engine mounts fitted too at the same time.

My Money Pit needs her mounts done too.
It certainly makes a change alright when they are replaced. You get so used to the way the car gradually deteriorates over time you don't notice until they are replaced ;)

I got a cover for mine and put it on religiously (live under a big tree)... for the first month, then gave up after it blew off, half secured, because a neighbour decided to stop and chat. Full of grit!

I had it down to a fine art aswell, placing it rolled up on the roof in the centre, then rolling the back and front down, then over the sides.

might get another, it’s just a pain in winter when it’s coated in rain and 0 degrees.

Got the R Class back from a horrid fault finding and bits fixing job. New cv boots, new injector seal, AC regas, and a few other odds n sods.
Scrapped the old X Trail that we’d got as a family car while the 251 was being poked & prodded.
Found my CTEK and conditioned the 215’s battery.

Battery at 12 volt after 2 weeks so a few hours on the charger got it back to 12.8V. I leave the R172 unlocked in the (locked) garage so was wondering whether that used more or less power than locking it?
I read an article that said locked used less power as all the stand by circuits had shut down.

Now look what you've done Blobcat, even Craig's joining in
I give you the K Class... First War steam powered jobbies.

Yes, they were a somewhat unlucky class.

Taxed the SL ready for its next service and MOT. I fear another expensive year for me. I also charged the consumer battery again, the last time was 6 weeks ago. The SL has been in the garage all that time but the only issues were the parking sensors not working but they came on line within 5 mins of starting the car.
