Me -2019 GLC 350 coupe AMG line. Mrs- ford kuga 65 plate awd powershift .
So decided to give the old girl the once over first time in a while. Then a proper shocker I notice a little rust on the inside of the arch.

This can't be seen from standing next to the car I had to physically get under it to see.
What is the best cause of action I was thinking of sanding it back, touch of primer and touch up the paint with the matching colour. Luckily I think I have caught it early.
Suggestions?

I do wonder if its worth cleaning cars these days, I spent over 2 hours cleaning 3 cars this morning and all of them have a layer of dust on them already :(
I used my free autoglym ceramic spray a week ago. And I'm amazed that no pollen or dust have settled on it.

Drove it for the first time in 4 months, with lockdown and sainsburys delivering the shopping I haven't needed to drive it.

And I think that's where I was going wrong because it was such a pleasure to get out on a sunny day with the top down and enjoy the beautiful countryside in my Mercedes.

It started straight away and worked perfectly, the only problem was it looked a bit dusty from sitting in the garage for 4 months so later in the week I'm going to give it a good wash! I might even try my new pressure washer on it, normally I just use the hosepipe and bucket.

Happy days lol!

Just finished detailing my SL350. WOW, that Bouncers "Done & Dusted" Si edition really finishes it off. Pity the pics & vid can't catch how shiny the car is now.

Decontaminated with Bilt Hamber, 2 bucket wash with ph neutral shampoo, clay mitt, Poorboy's White Diamond polish, Wolfgang Concours series Deep Gloss paint sealant ( 2 layers), Invisible Glass, Wonder Wheels Wheel Sealant, CarPlan Tyre Slik, Autoglym Bumper & Trim gel, DoDo Juice Supernatural Carnauba Wax (2 layers), Bouncers "Done & Dusted" Si Edition (2 layers) . . . and relax!

What I did to my merc yesterday was order it's replacement. The E220 has been the best car I've ever owned and my second Mercedes (it's the first time I've bought the same manufacturer twice consecutively).

But with a new company car policy, the EQC has become an option and for better or worse, I've decided to try it for two years. So I have six more weeks with the E220 and then it'll have to be sold.

I expect nothing but ridicule from all the 'petrolheads', but I wondered if anyone else has taken the plunge?

As a company car they make perfect sense - especially with full warranty, please keep us updated

That's pretty much why I went for it. And my driving these days consists mostly of journeys under 100 miles, so range shouldn't cause me any problems. the test drive was interesting. If I remember rightly Blobcat, it was around your patch, up Denby Dale road to the Midgeley roundabout, then down onto the M1 at Haigh. With the regen on Auto, the car slowed into the 30 Zone by the sculpture park (although didn't accelerate into the NSL zone) in it's efforts to be efficient. But pulling up the slip road onto the M1 was an experience with that kind of acceleration in a 2.5 tonne car!

I use that J38 on-ramp regularly :) I keep coming up to peeps that decide to join the motorway at 35-40mph... As it's 2 lanes joining I don't normally hang around with them to get wiped out by a 44 tonner...

We should look at GTG at the coal mining museum (free parking) ;) or somewhere else local

I find exactly the same problem coming on J41 south, but luckily we have an extra lane. the number of people that seem to think entering a motorway at 40mph is safe is astounding.

GTG sounds like a plan. If we wait 6 weeks or so, I'll be in the EQC.

J41 south is a long run (another one I use often...) You can do an F1 start from the lights on the roundabout at the top, although that would be childish and not at all what you should be doing past Police HQ... ;)

In the current environment, they make sense for many, as BC says.

They're getting quite good reviews on the Tube Of You.

It will probably be worth starting a new thread which you can update from time to time with your experiences and views. I did have a look at it on the website, after a marketing email from Mercedes, but then I saw the starting price and, as I would be spending my own money, I quickly lost interest!

Professionals look away now !
Thought that the CLK winter steel wheels were looking tatty and rusty , so over the last 3 days I have cleaned them , rustproofed them and stuck a coat of smooth black metal paint on them with a large brush .
There was no attention to detail involved in any of this but I’m well impressed with how good they look now . They might be 9 years old ?
