Gave the engine a bit of a wash last week... It really needed a good clean as the underside was totally filthy and a pig to work on.

How I cleaned the engine:
* Jizer (Neat) in a hand pump
* Wheel brush
* Air compressor with blower to blow off the water after.
* Power washer - tip removed, meaning less pressure and a bit higher water flow. This means it used the flow of water to remove the Jizer but with little pressure.

I got a misfire yesterday evening on Cylinder 1 .. and I thought I was buggered!! Went at it today and it turns out the boot was a little loose... we are now back in action. God love this car, it put's up with my tinkering so well!

Must admit I use ACF50 and not Jizz to clean the engine, but each to their own!!!

Took the wings of my r129 and discovered an unidentified black object beneath on passenger side and a white plastic bottle thing on the drivers side. what are they??

Looks like a charcoal canister.

Something to do with petrol, emissions and the environment. I know on the MK 2 Clio they get removed.. I read somewhere that they aren't really needed. They are part of older designs and not on newer cars.

Somebody who knows they are talking about will be along shortly

The FPO put it up on Facebook Marketplace today, SORN’d and sold as seen. 6 phone calls within the first 5 minutes, sold to the second guy who rang.

What have I done? Started to engage the sport setting rather than comfort as default driving mode. Smiles per mile have increased.

Emptied car of all the junk that wife stored in the boot (trunk) as an extra storage unit...and emptied, vacuumed and sorted interior with all my daily driving carry-ons, such as shades, gloves, umbrella, pens, notebooks, coins, service book pack, de-icer, scraper, squidgy etc...performed all winter checks and top-ups...now ready for whatever the season throws at us...
