MOT passed with no advisories or service recommendation either.
Very happy with Diagnostic Services & Repairs in Leighton Buzzard.
They can also update the DSR so all good and a lot more cost effective than the main dealers.

I feel your pain !! Two valve blocks replaced with re-furbs this Jan after ours suffered with standing still during COVID lockdowns, you could not exactly class taking the SL out in the sun during lockdown as a necessary journey. After seeing what Doris and his Toff's were up to I wish I had, a £60 fine would have been much more welcome than a knackered ABC system, Guess it might have tarnished my DBS though. Hope the seal kit works, I bought one first, unfortunately I don't have the room in garage to perform such surgery so handed to local specialist who reported that it didn't solve m

It's been a good car this, but being neglected now, so I guess it's poetic justice. The seals I have were bought for the first SL500 but never did the valve seals as we never had a suspension drop, only raised itself on the off side rear everytime you switched off. You would be refuelling and the off side would raise to nearly full height but once started again would drop to normal ride level
Hope these seals will be ok?

That's how mine started, but went quicker. Then after a while started to throw ABC warning when car braked or cornered which made it pretty undrivable.

Ha, if I had known that I'd have collected it for him and fitted it to my car :D
Being serious, Phil still has all of my first batch of seals for the valve blocks, so it’s a job he can certainly do.

I've too got a set of seals, but need to check there quality otherwise I'll give Phil a call. I assume he'd sell some?

I’m sure he would, and they’re the Viton ones as well, best quality I could find.

Jet washed it yesterday at a local garage, it's Obsidian Black, and today trying to figure out how to not get marks from the water droplets when they dry - it leaves a residue. Hmmm.

I machined the missing spring perches for my Bilstein B8 front dampers and fitted them today. The ride height is slightly lower with the ability to go lower and the ride feels very controlled. Mot next weekend.

I see they are a good wet weather Tyre but what is the Yellow column on the left of the label on the Tyre. Wet weather is not really an issue around here, we don’t get huge amounts of rain. That Tyre was the joint favourite for mine as my current Tyres are starting to show cracks. They are 5 years old now

That's fuel efficiency.

Hand drying with microfibre towels works for me. Those with more budget do the final rinse with purified water cylinders.

[W218 CLS350cdi] Just got back from Bradford-on-Avon via Oxford, decided to get the missus to record some of the fuel usage during the journey. Pleasantly surprised that I now have some evidence that I do not always suffer from heavy metal poisoning to the right foot and that the car is capable of 50mpg (ish)
