Washed then rinsed with "Race Glaze" filter water and left in the sun to dry. Rain will surely arrive shortly now :(

Does that Race Glaze actually work?
So you wash your car, rinse off, leave to dry naturally, even in hot sunshine. And it leaves no water spots at all?

Possibly in soft water areas . It's grim up north.

Yup, it does, even down here on the South coast where the water is 'ard as f.....'

It genuinely is really hard water, but a final rinse down with resin filtered water and the 'Brilliant Blue' E400 coupe just dries, glass and all.
It magic and saves many 10 mins wiping the cars down with a detailing spray.

I get 50 to 60 washes out of the cannister before I have to replace the resin.

Yes it does work and very well and yes, you can just rinse it and leave it in the bright sun to dry and you'll get zero water marks; but here's what you need to know.

If you wash the car on a sunny/windy day (where it will naturally dry quite quickly), it is vital that you don't allow the car to dry between washing it, tap-water" rinsing it and applying the final "Race Glaze" rinse.

If you do, you may get visible marks from where the detergent or tap water deposits have already dried an d left deposits - these wipe off easily, but kind of defeats the object.

So on a dull/cold day, you can take your time - but on a hot/sunny day you need to work quickly :)

But done right - it definitely does work (even here on the South Coast).

Felt the C180 wasn't running very smoothly and had an EML with cylinder misfire code. so decided to do a plug change and check the cam magnet plugs for leaks while I was in there.

Tools needed, An E8 Torx socket, long reach 16mm spark plug socket, decent socket set, electrical spray, copper grease clean cloths.
Took around an hour to do all 4 as some were extremely tight. The electrodes on cylinders 1~& 2 were nearly burnt away. No wonder it was running rough.
A small amound of oil had leaked into the plugs leading from the cam magnets but fortunately, the pig tail extensions I fitted stopped any oil wicking up the loom. I'll get a couple of new cam magnets and fit them shortly so when it does go up for sale in the next couple of months, it will have everything done to it including an oil/filter change and air filter.

A few photos of the work done and notice those electrodes in the two photos of the old plugs!
All the coil packs exposed #1 at the bottom by the oil filler cap.

Look at the gap and the burnt away electrode. #2 electrode was far worse.

Car running a treat now, no hesitation and fault code not reappeared. Well worth doing for the £50 it cost me.

Jeepers. whats the mileage on them plugs. IIRC the interval is 30k.
A satisfying DIY.
I have no idea. I've only done 10k miles in almost 3 years so thought it prudent to change them.
Doesn't look like these were changed in years.

Experimenting with cameras on my S211, the Xtrons Android head unit will accept a front and rear camera. Tried a couple of different positions on the rear but the tailgate release being central means a slight offset.

Discovered in the camera settings this head unit will accept AHD cameras so l have ordered a 1080P with Infrared LEDs.

Been cleaning it for the last few days well, weeks actually, as it's not really being used at the moment.

I'd come to the decision that the finish wasn't acceptable, with one or two slight scratches and swirls, even after a few previous efforts.

The polisher I used throughout the following processes was the DAS-6 Pro V2, which is a dual action polisher and has been one of my better purchases.

I started by going over it all with Poorboys SSR 2.5 using a Lake Country orange light cutting pad to get the finish I was after. Where a few marks still remained, they were attacked using the same polish though on a Gyeon eccentric heavy pad. This is as harsh as I dare go on this car. I've used heavier stuff previously but there's too much of a risk of breaking through the clear coat which would be the last thing I need.

After a few hours of this treatment it was starting to look a lot better so it was time to smooth it all out a bit further with a finishing polish. I did this with two different polishes as I was a bit short of one. The first was Chemical Guys V38 final polish which is good to use, easy to remove and virtually dust free. It is a bit of a pain to get out of the bottle as it's a very thick polish and seems to stick to the sides. A good shake before and while using helps, as does storing it upside down. The other one I used was Meguiars 205 Ultra finishing polish. Another well respected name in the world of detailing and, going by this, well deserved. It went on easily and polished off effortlessly. If I'd had enough of it I'd have done the full car but this was the reason for the two different ones in the first place. Both these polishes were applied using a Lake Country green polishing pad which supplied the minimal amount of cut which was what I wanted.

Once this stage was completed it was time to stand back and admire my work though, as I'm my own worse critic, this wasn't going to happen. After a full inspection, I managed another couple of minor corrections then decided I'd gone far enough.

The third and final polish before my last stage protection has now started, this being with Dodo Juice Lime Prime. I was in two minds about using this after all the polishing though knew that it would be worth it due to the finish it gives. This was applied using a Chemical Guys white hex logic pad which I've had for ages though hardly used.

I've not yet finished this stage though will hopefully get it sorted out in the next day or two, after that it'll then just be a case of giving it a coat or two of wax to keep it protected from the elements. Not that it sees many elements but one never knows... :)

No photos as yet as I always forget them but I'll hopefully up some when it's finished, so long as I'm happy with the results.
