Quite frankly dave a car with that value in immaculate condition makes a lot more sense going to main dealer for service given the complexity of the car. Do you get a discount on service plans with MB owners club? Not today but yesterday, took it for a "B" service + MOT.
It still goes to the main dealer as, even at 6 years old now, I want the Mobilo to continue. I also know that I could save a few quit by getting it tested elsewhere but, as it's already in at Mercedes, it saves me the hassle of rooting around for someone else and wasting another hour or so while it's done.
One thing which was picked up on the service was that the oil drain plug was a bit chewed up/rounded off. Fair play to the service advisor who told me, and apparently they had to send someone to another dealership (Stockport) to acquire a new one. He stressed that there obviously wouldn't be any charge as the only people who could have damaged it would have been themselves, just annoying that whoever did it originally didn't admit it at the time. To be honest, I was a bit surprised that they used the drain plug, I thought they would have vacuumed the old oil out. Ah well...
It's now sorted for another 12 months, MOT passed with no advisories and the only service note was that the rear tyres are down to ~5mm.
