They look good, nice sparkle to the finish

Pain in the bum cleaning that rim behind the Spokes, the X1 has the same and does my head in

Put some oil on them... will keep brake dust at bay! :)

They are being re-furbed in the new year thanks to the Diamond cut marbling.

Will be done in light grey to match the current finish without the diamond cut faces

Ordered a new Turbo inlet Seal, could hear a high pitch whistle on acceleration which sounds like an air leak, took the inlet manifold off and the seal is goosed, Mercedes Newcastle via E-Bay on next day delivery, will fit the new one tomorrow on arrival.

Problem is the seal in there doesn't look correct compared to the new one that has been confirmed to be correct, will see what happens tomorrow when I fit it

Picked it up from the bodyshop who have done a perfect job respraying the recent vandalism scratch and the bumper scuff from last year's Italian trip. They were recommended as being expensive but the best and they certainly were - on both counts - but it was worth it.

Managed to squeeze in a quick oil and filter change on the E coupe to set a new baseline :) .
Also whilst I was underneath I detached the adblue injector at the exhaust and cleaned it , there was very little crystal on it .
I changed the adblue after overdosing it with anti crystal for a few hours by suctioning it out with a cheap 12v extractor pump .
Put 20L of new adblue in it with correct anti crystal dose , I’ll probably do what @DSK does and change it every 6 months .
The pressure is off with a years MB approved used though .
Changed the cabin filter in the passenger footwell , what a back twisting fiddle , I may have put it in back to front but I’ll check when my back has recovered (would it make any difference??)

New Tayna battery fitted to the E320cdi , last one was a 2017 . It had started to only show 11.9v the day after a decent run . So £100 delivered for a new AGM battery was very decent .

Due to my naivety with what I thought was a minor error in the cluster display, I've just had a nice bill to fix the message "Lane Assist inoperative" It showed up about a week ago and I didn't take much notice of it. It's not a feature I like much anyway and turn it off most journeys. But............its an MOT failure if its not working, so today I went to my local indy, Startech to have it investigated and fixed.

The investigation fee for ADAS is £144 ph + vat. Upon investigation the camera behind the overhead light/rear view mirror had moved due to not being correctly fixed when a new screen was fitted. Also, the glass behind the camera needed cleaning. Then another hour recalibrating the camera and its back in action again. Total bill? £318 inc vat:doh:
Whilst the car was on the ramp for a health inspection as they do each time the car is with them, they found the diff was covered in oil
I had noticed a few spots on the drive recently.
Fortunately, the car had been with them only a few weeks ago for front and rear diff oil change and n/s/r driveshaft seal repair.

It seems a seal for the temperature sensor for the diff has failed so they replaced it along with a new sensor free of charge.
Good customer service although my concience is wondering if they made an error and are correcting it.

On not such a good note, I found a screw close to the sidewall in my Michelin Pilot PS4 n/s/f tyre. Can't be repaired so after a quick look at prices I've gone with Asda Tyres who send the tyre to Protyre for fitting on Wednesday morning for the sum of £293 95. I could have bought cheaper but then have to add in carriage, waiting for deklivery and another £20 fitting fee.

Asda £294 all in inc tyre disposal and balancing.
Camskill £254 + £11 50 delivery + £20 fitting fee.
Black Circles £221 + £18 50 delivery + £20 fitting fee.
Could have saved myself about £35 using Black Circles but wanted it done quickly.

Its turning into an expensive month with the central heating boiler having a service today, a power flush next Monday then a new port valve fitted
I'm wondering what's next.

I find there is always that bedding in period with a used car during which you sort out all the things you think need attention so the cost can add up. My list includes a new front air strut (the adaption valve is leaking) probably before the next MoT and the following year at circa 50k miles gearbox, transfer box and diffs oil changes. That little lot will come in at the thick end of £3k but will bring the car up to where I want it to be maintenance wise.

If your ATF, transfer box and rear diff fluids are similar to mine, you are looking at a bill of around ~£550 for that alone.

I just spent about 30 quid on diff oil. Cost to refresh it: about an hour of my time (I hope!).
Usually just 2 bolts a fill and drain. If the bottles have the pull out straw youll be done in no time. Post a how to. May help others
