I need to wash our two....but i just can't see the point at the moment. Seems to rain most days, lots of local agricultural mud on road as well as a couple of housing developments only making it worse. Mine will say under its protective layer or mud and traffic film until after Xmas....using it too much to really bother....as much as I hate to see it filthy.

Me -2019 GLC 350 coupe AMG line. Mrs- 1.2 vauxhall Corsa 2021 ,orange with a black roof. .
Give it a good contactless wash using Jenny chem package , citrus blast , cola shampoo , hyper seal , fallout remover on the alloys , then twisted towel dried . Gleaming . Might order the ceramic detailer, it gets good reviews. Screenshot_20251221-205021.Chrome.png Screenshot_20250908-194754.Chrome.png

Sold it :eek::(

Had it nearly 14 years - covered 8,460 miles (one reason I've sold it)

Spent as follows:

There will now be a period of mourning in the BC household :(

They look great....but are horrible to drive....IMO. I'm a slimmish bloke but the complete lack of room at elbow height makes them too uncomfortable to do more than a few miles at a time in....at least for me....probably the same for you looking at your mileage! No idea how larger people manage. And as for ride quality....well there isn't any! They will always hold a fond place in my driving history though. We had two ex army light weights on the farm. And as it was all private roads, as soon as we were tall enough to reach the pedals and act sensibly we could drive them.....I was twelve. So a LR was the first thing I ever drove apart from a Massey Ferguson 135 tractor! Taught me how to rear wheel steer, four wheel drift and control a car in adverse conditions too.....all at below about 30 mph and on several inches of mud!....Happy days!

You do know the windows open don’t you…

The mileage might have been low for the years, but the miles were quite challenging / fun… :)

Always found it very comfortable, especially with the road conditions we “enjoy”, just with 5 cars and 2 motorcycles I didn’t have the time to use it more.

I'd love a go at doing that . Tried twice on me own on the beaches around here , got stuck the 2nd time with an incoming tide . Luckily another lad drove along in a Vitara and yanked me out. I was in a 10k £ Toyota Hilux surf 3.0 diesel . One wheel went down and game over . It got messy !!

I'm an... err... 'larger gentleman ' and I did lots of miles in mine, both on motorways and round the lakes and peaks trails. I never found it uncomfortable to drive. As BC says the windows open....
That said even with the windows closed you soon adapted. I drove over Shap one night when it was so cold that even the Eberspacher 1kW diesel heater mounted under the centre cubby box couldn't stop ice forming on the inside of the windscreen. Windows were definitely up for that trip!

I also had a pair of FC101s for a while and even though I'm 6ft I found them reasonably comfortable. Morticia.jpg Screenshot_20260112-103349_copy_1280x874.png

Filled it up with Shell E10 I’m thinking of using E5 now the car is 12 years old due to how corrosive E10 is to the fuel system

I use e10 in my 21 year car and it runs well, the last 2 days averaged 18.1 mpg over 310 miles. The only cars that I think need e5 are 50 plus years old. But I can be stood corrected......

Food for thought and worth a watch:

Glad I haven't a Porsche.
It needs more investigation than, oh its the fuel. Too many owners leave their car sitting for long periods where this fuel deteriorates. Plus additives can and do react with the fuel.
My car has run 87 octane since it was new and has over 211k on it. All engines from the late 70s were designed to run on this unleaded stuff. Yes there was a quite a lot of issues due to the aromatics used to raise octane levels. It is still causing issues with the fuel systems due to the rubbers which were or had to be change to meet the new fuel requirements. I had bought many non running cars that have not been run for many many years due to the new fuel which caused issues and the owners have driven them until it engines stopped. The old rubber components break down and clogged the whole fuel system. If they had have replaced all the lines to meet the new fuel standards and kept using their car, many would not have had as many issues.
So the moral of this story is, use your car regularly, don't leave fuel to go off, drive it like you stole it (fuel burns better and keeps the DPF and cats clean) and don't buy a Porsche :p
Oh, don't use additives.

I agree with almost all of that…
