ive just got an android unit for one of my 300c pal £121 delivered and it comes with the dash panel so it looks factory , so id say that explains why no one will repair one , they are so cheap brand new its unreal

It would certainly explain why not Simon, it looks like it’ll be going back in the car come trade in time.
My Alpine unit and fitting kit was more than double that amount, although fortunately I didn't have to pay for it, and it is completely compatible with my iPhone and iPod so I think it’ll be a keeper.

Think I've agreed sale of my UnMerc! Been offered a very strong price for it.

Replacement, however, is likely to be another UnMerc, so likely to be loitering here in Under(Merc)world for a bit longer. o_O

Was going to wash and clean the Golf up this morning but after being woken at 05:30 by torrential rain, which has still not stopped, decided to give it a miss and do some domestically orientated stuff instead. This may involve a bit of leisure time with some music. :)

The car can wait till next week for it's tidy up. The Mercedes is cleaned and in the garage so no worries there, just need a break in the weather so I can get it out.

Contemplated pur-chase of Faraday pouches for inbound UnMerc. Anybody any experience of them?

Also debating getting it some decent waxy topping, or whether I stick to the Natty Blue I have left over from the C63, (UnMerc The Sequel is black too).

Well... the UnMerc is gone, long live (pllllease, long live) the UnMerc!

They'd done an OK job at prep, not sure their chap had decontaminated the paintwork before machine polishing though. Went to apply a bit of paint protection whilst it was fresh... tar & other tiny deposits still there, so sorted some of those, out with the G3 Farecla to remove some of the scratches, then out with Armourall & ceramic spray. Mrs RH implied I wasn't right in the head, cleaning a "new" car!!!

It's got to go back Weds, as they forgot to refurb wheels, and a couple of very minor scrapes they said would be gone.

Yes the Faraday pouches work perfectly always use them for the BMW keys

Thanks Malcolm. A 2-pack arrived this afternoon - thought I ought to try them as I never got around to it with the i30N!

Avoided the Ingenium lump... and got a good LR Indie not too far away...
A good indie is worth his weight… mine is just back from Ulan Bator and has started pulling mine apart

My Pa's on his second Freelanderer 2, and both [touches wood] have served him well.

The 9-sp is a bit of an unknown to me, but fluid change done, and I'm thinking of getting a Bluetooth OBD2 & Carscanner or Torque Pro so I can monitor transmission temps, particularly when towing.

It seems to drive nicely - they let me take it out for a decent test drive, circa 25 miles, mixed roads. Got them to do full cambelt kit (inc tensioners & pump) as it would be due next year, went halves on new tyres, and also for tow kit (to be done).

Feedback is that the Freelander 2 is one of the best (most reliable) they’ve ever glued together. It’s one I’d have if I had to have one (or what you’ve just bought)

They definitely work, assuming you have a good quality example. Just a minor irritation having to keep putting it in the pouch and of course they don't just slip into your pocket like a key does :)

You could sew pouch fabric around your trouser pockets, relatively simple and saves messing around with the pouches all the time
