Used to have a C63... now back in the fold with a 67-reg E350d!
In case it's of use to anyone... I used Demon Machine Rapid Dirt Shifter to give the tyres and alloys a pre-soak, and then again with a tyre brush to get the side walls cleaned up.

It's actually very good at lifting cack out of the rubber. Also used it to clean the engine bay & covers on the E350 the other week. It's not particularly aggressive, which I like, and fairly inexpensive. Quite handy to have around for odd jobs!

VW Golf R & BMW S1000XR, E350 CDi Sport Coupe, now gone.
Got a new UnMerc last week, I'd had my Yamaha Tracer 900ABS for just over two years, nothing wrong with it at all, I just had the notion for an in line four for a while, as I preferred the smoothness of the four cylinder engine to be honest.

I tried several bikes before finding my Unicorn, two different Kawasaki's, a Z900RS a Z1000SX, a Suzuki GSX-S1000GT, a Honda CB1000F and they all killed my hip within 10 - 15 minutes in the saddle. I could barely walk when I got off of them.

My Unicorn turned out to be the BMW S1000XR K69 Series 2. What a tool! Comfortable, smooth, fast and it felt like it was made for me even the weight was manageable, only 226KG. Ok I had to stretch the budget a little (more like a lot), :eek: but it was definitely worth it. Now that I'm retired I can enjoy it more often.

I am in love. :p:cool::geek:

Is it something (a show etc...) or someone that you're going to visit?

So finally decided to sort the engine on my vw t25 camper.
Spoke to an engine builder in wales who specialises and i started the task of removing all the bits from the engine before i drop it tomorrow for collection of the bare long block next week.

Ahhhh so nice compared to a modern engine.

As I changed the oil (BMW LL04 0W-30) recently in the BMW 435i direct injection I thought I’d illustrate what the oil looks like after 2k miles before it goes to recycling. So easy to check the level with these cars 6.5 litres comes out and the same goes in.

Not quite as black as a diesel but getting there.

Seems very black for just 2000 miles in a petrol. When I change the oil after about 5 or 6000 miles in our A Class W169 it comes out only slightly darker than when it went in. I do use a flush at change time though. But the oil in the derv powered OM642 is black the next day, even with a flush!

It surprised me when I first bought the car this is the third oil change I’ve done with the car and put it down to direct injection and soot getting past the rings, the car uses no oil and runs perfectly. I’ll change the spark plugs this year it’ll be interesting to see how clean they are.
