Standard manufacturers immobiliser is usually enough for the insurance company to deny any discount...

Be fair, most insurance companies accept the MB as very good, it is in the highest Thatcham ratings

I agree it is very good, however I don't see insurance companies giving discounts for it being fitted.

Could it be the other way round that there is no discount but you do have to have a Thatcham approved alarm

I have only ever said that the alarm is MB's own and there has never been a problem.

You can look Thatcham up on the web and check the data base

* Thread ressurection lol *

Did a search and found this thread (does that qualify me to not be a newbie anymore? lol)...

Does the immobiliser on an MB have a key over ride facility please, for when the car goes in for service. etc? Just that I got a small white topped key when I got my car and assume it is an immobiliser over ride key (had similar before on BM's)?

However, I cant seem to locate the alarm system where it normally is...;)
