Ive gone off the idea of getting a cd changer in the dash and im thinking of going down the ipod in the car route.

I have no ideas on what one would be best either wired or fm transmiter

Has anyone on here got any ideas.

Thinking of spending about £100 max

Thanks

Only way for a ipod kit is the mb one, shows all tracks etc on the dash display and full control on the steering wheel buttons!!

Pig to install but wouldnt use anything other!!

I have had 2 FM transmiter types in the past and in my experiance they are crap. Wired properly is the only way to go.

DICE FM IPOD Kit

Have a look at this

http://forums.mercedesclub.org.uk/showthread.php?t=52150

Used it for a week or more now and no issues.

Used it to Ipswich and back on shuffle with a new IPOD Touch for hours of uninterrupted fav music this week

For the budget you mention , this is , in my mind, the best bet

Wired will be more than £100, but superb when fitted (I would have no other).

FM transmitters are terrible in town but much cheaper.

Like many things in life - you get what you pay for.

Disagree & agree

The DICE KIT is under £80 and do-able DIY if you can get the dash etc apart
As it was in for a service I had the garage do it - nudging it just above £100 in total

Agree wired - transmitters are pants

I used to use a Harmon Karmon gizmo in my Volvo - sounds similar installation procedure. The problem for me was I thought that the controller and separate screen would look unsightly in the W209 cabin so went down the replacement audio route (one unit for radio, CD, Ipod & bluetooth). Audio 10 in a 209 is a no go for Ipod!

I've got the Harmon Kardon here - was about to Ebay it.
