Hi there
I wonder if anyone can give me some advice as I have seen a car that I may want to purchase.

Is 50,000 miles a lot for a 1999 320ML ?

How long can these engines typically be expected to run ?

Many thanks is advance

Michael

Hi Micheal

50K although high millage is not a problem on the V6'S. They will take that pounding all day long and then some. If the vehicle is cheaper than a lower millage one then why not. Make sure everything works. Get a good warranty. Make sure its had all the service's.

Then enjoy the experience.

Regards

The advice from those in the trade is to buy newer with a high mileage as long as it has has a full service history. It certainly is true of quality motors such as Mercedes - see my posts on the 190E thread. Beware underused cars with low mileages - they appeal to the buying public but are often troublesome due to a life of short journeys when things never get properly warmed up.

Try looking at honestjohn.co.uk (from the Saturday Telegraph) for his advice on buying cars. Good forum too, called the Back Room.

Good luck

Pat
