My daily run is most of the reason for poor mpg as although it’s a mixture of town and motorway the whole journey is 10 miles , car as Roger says isn’t even warmed up.
I did get close to 30 in a run to Edinburgh
In the SL I think the same run was about 25

What is the worst that could happen? All of the above at once really ... my 500 I got about 26mpg on runs of 40 or so miles... on the 350 same runs were about 28 .... nothing came in above 30 other than frugal driving on motorways...

Tyres could also be a bit pricey depending on condition...

clk3202001,sl6002003 with everything regrettably sold ,A class 170cdi auto. NG/TF1800 ML250
i think the 350 gives a lot of value and somewhat less complication and therefore cost to run and unexpected dramas, with hindsight i would probrably gone for that, i really, when weather and time allow, enjoy my motor but my 01 clk provides enough fun with much less concern than the sl600. and i do believe the V6 motors to be fairly bullet proof if seviced properly. i had the idea that mine might be reasonable collectors car,but i am not sure i will live long enough for that to happen about 37k miles now about as mint as possible absolutly no corrosion anywhere with most options ,paid 19k ,i dont want to think on todays value !!! buy yr 350 sure you will enjoy it. or try the 500 as well.it WILL cost you a fair bit more to run than a 350 unless yr extremely lucky.
