As above please, what is the recommended oil on here.
I do about 6-8k per year.

Also what oil must be used in the Speedshift gearbox, as i want this changed and want to make sure whatever Indi does it uses the correct type.

TIA

Mainly Mercedes
I have always used Mobil 1 0W40, as recommended by AMG. Never had a problem with the oil at all!!

Use Mercedes own trans fluid. An alternative is available if you want to search it out, but I recommend Merc fluid.

You cannot go wrong with any oil that meets spec 229.3 or higher, that is better than the oil that was around when the car was made.

The latest spec fluid for the box is 236,14 only from MB

It depends what you are looking for as they meet different specs

MB 229.3
Engine oils for cars with extended oil change intervals (30,000 km).

MB 229.31
Engine oils for cars with exhaust gas after treatment. Low ash content required.

MB 229.5
Fuel Economy engine oil for even longer oil change intervals (vehicles from 2002 on) with service indicators. Special, stricter requirements than ACEA A3/B3. For use in all car gasoline and diesel engines. This oil also complies with 229.1 and 229.3.

MB 229.51
Very high performance oil for engines with diesel particle filters and extended oil change intervals. Better fuel economy than MB 229.5.

Cheers

Im kind of old school in the fact that i like to change my oil every 6k.

I just what the right oil so that the supercharger etc will be happy. I dont want mega longlife stuff, or too thinner an oil.
I normally use Vauxhall oil either semi or fully.
