Whilst I'm browsing thought I'd ask the question that I'm very unsure of the answer to .

What are the required pressures for the rubber upon the 18 inch alloys that adorn my CLK ? I was told when I bought the car that " .. ' ooh , .. er , about 32psi all round " was the number . Is that right ?

The numbers on the tyres are : 255 / 40 ZR18 92W

It has always been said that the pressures remain the same, for the best part it is a weight thing, many when they increase the diameter also increase the running pressure up to the max loading figures, these are on the inside of the fuel filler lid

O.K., thanks for the pointer . :)

I think it will be 32lbs psi then , although there's another set of figures on the filler cap that illustrates some situation where 41lbs psi will be required , but am baffled why . Sometimes these cryptic pictures and numbers are just plain confusing .

The label inside my fuel filler says for 3 passengers, 2.4 bar.
