Very nice!

If you're selling the blue ones, please drop me a PM

Thanks, but there may be a couple of stumbling blocks with regards to selling them.

1: My son want the wheels for his S202, although I really don't think they will fit.

2: It will cost around £70 to get the dent out of this front wheel. It causes vibration at around 80mph.

Thanks for the help so far, chaps.

Can anyone confirm if the Elegance fitted with the standard sports chassis higher, lower or the same as Avantgarde set up.

This is what I really need now before ordering the tyres. They are too expensive to experiment with and I won't be able to swap the 245's for 235's if I get it wrong.
I have no physical way to test this.

My arches are rolled, so if the Avantgarde is the same (or lower) as the standard sports chassis I think I'll be ok with the 245's.

TIA.

I don't see why it makes a difference P. The AG sits lower...but all the cars' suspensions move up and down when on the move. So whether one or the other...if the wheel is too big it will foul at some point on both set ups.

245 is too great a diameter, best to stick with 235s on 8s.

I have an Avantgarde running standard size 235/40/17

If/when I decide to replace the 17s with 18s, I will go to 235/35/18 (I think I have that right but someone will correct me if wrong)

I don't think you need to go to 245 or gain anything (I assume this will be all round)

Leave it as it is! :D

LOL! :D

At first, it's quite pleasing when people turn their heads when you drive past, but because I bought the car for its orthopaedic seats I am using it as much as I can and have had a few funny looks when turning up for business appoinments. That aside, it is just far too low. for comfort as far as potential damage goes.

The standard tyre for our cars is 215/55 on a 16. This gives a diameter of 643mm.

The 225/40 on a 17 is 620mm. So, you are almost an inch too small...a 45 profile would be correct giving a diameter of exactly 643mm, the same as the standard tyre. You are probably using more fuel than you should.

If going to 18, then use 235/40 giving a diameter of 645mm.

Thanks, Ciaran.

I'll be using 235's on the front, although the idea of using 245's on the rear makes some appeal. If so would it be 245/40 or 245/35?

TIA.

Ok, I don't have handbook or car to hand so must be 235/45/17 - I know it's in the back of the handbook somewhere and that's what I used as when I bought it, it had the wrong sized tyres.

Paul.

If you use 235/40s on the front the correct tyre for the back is 265/35. This will give a diameter of 643...so only 2mm difference. Anything else and the CC will not work as it should. Even a 245/35 is too small at 629mm.

I'm not a genius BTW...just use this calculator:

Thanks, Ciaran. I don't think I could fit a 265 on an 8" rim though? I don't have the staggered set up.

Then it's 235s all round. The only person to see them will be the car behind.

 Last question, I promise!

Which wheels bolts for these wheels, please?
I know I can get them from Alloy Wheels Direct, but I may be able to get a better price at the main dealer. I just need to know what to ask for specifically.

Part numbers - HWA1294010102 - B66031007
Wheel specs - 8Jx18 H2 ET31

TIA.
