We have recently bought a caravan (weighs about 1200kg) and my PT Cruiser won't be able to hack it.
I have decided to trade in for a deisel estate and am favouring a MB.
It needs to accommodate 2 adults, 2 kids, 1 Great Dane and 1 Dalmation.
I do 300-500 miles per week, so economy is a consideration.
It needs to tow well - I like to sit at 50-60 with the caravan.
When I take to a car it's a case of till death us do part, so longevity is important.
I can go to £12k, at a push, but ideally need something around £10k.
I would appreciate the benefit of experience of different models, particularly in towing, but also any advice on where to buy and what to be aware of (I'm in the Midlands, but will travel).
