What tyre size ?????

To all you wheel/ tyre experts out there .........

Im currently running 7.5x17 inch alessio alloys on my 1994 c-class.

My question is .......... Ideally what size tyres should I be using.

These alloys were on the car when I got it and are currently fitted with 235/40/17's.

Im sure they really dont need to be that wide

To maintain the original rolling radius what size tyres should I be using ???
