Hi All..

Very likely already covered somewhere on here, but as it's that time of the year when we get round to spring cleaning I'm just wondering what the guys and gals are using on their Merc's?

Autoglym super resin polish followed by a coat of high definition wax is a good combination.
Make sure you Clay first though.

I don't polish but I do wax.

Clay Bar first this time of year, to clean up any contaminates / fall out.

Collinite 476s for me.

Just out of interest, how is the finish if you don't polish but use a clay bar?

I've never polished a car so cannot comment.

Clay Bar always leaves my car feeling Butterly smooth, ready for the first big wax coat of the year.
Removed the iron filings we get around here as well (At least most of them).

On Sunday - I tested some IronOut on my wife's car (small spot on one door - was actually doing her wheels) and was quite surprised at how much iron there seemed to. Will be doing Ironout and Claymitt next wash.

I went upmarket and opted for "Simoniz Carnauba Liquid Wax". Will apply this weekend if the weather is ok.

I know I should use UDS, but I'm not going to waste my SRP.

My main Wax I use is Autoglym UHD Wax. Seen here:

Rightly or wrongly I just prefer Autoglym Products as I also use the Quick Detailer after washes and between Waxes.
As far as Shampoos go I now use the UHD Shampoo.
To mention others I use are:

Vinyl & Rubber Care, Fast Glass, Tyre Dressing, Leather Cleaner, Leather Balm, Paint Restorer & Custom Wheel Cleaner,

There are 2 other products I really Like and use, and they are 3M Quick Wax Spray and Meguiars Cleaner Wax. The Cleaner wax is really good at getting rid of blemishes on the Paintwork, or very light scuffs.

Please take into consideration that this is a 19 year old car so to get this type of finish is very pleasing - newer car should be blinding you!

This is an example of using the Leather Cleaner and Balm and the Vinyl & Rubber on the other Interior Finishes, including the Engine Bay.

Of course this is just personal choice and experimentation over the years using many other brands/types and I'm quite happy with the results I get using Autoglym overall.

Good luck with whatever you choose to go with. :)
