My paint is not so good in places so the filler in SRP helps mask the faults. Maybe I can machine polish some out when I get a chance.

My mums neighbour last year advised that a good household product to use was CIF, mum thought it was OK, bless her. Car was cover in swirls that you couldn't believe.

After decontamination I’ll either use 3M Ultrafine on a rotary polisher or if it’s in good nick a couple of coats of SRP followed by Collinite 915 Marque d’elegance. Followed by trim dressing etc.

I’ve had the collinite for around 5 years now and probably used it around 10 times. I just can’t use that stuff up! It lasts for several months.

After several years of trialing all the latest and greatest, seeing my wallet lighten across many detailing products, I began to cut down and just stick with stuff that genuinely works and lasts, rather than provide short lived results. My personal stash now contains the following to mention a few.

Wash - Autoglym (green), Meguiars Gold Class , Meguiars Wash & Wax
    Compounds - Menzerna & 3M Yellow
Polishes - AutoGlym SRP & Meguiars Ultimate Polish
    Sealants - Menzerna, G-Techniq, CarLack
Waxes - Collinite 845 & Bilt Hamber Double Speed Wax

I’m exactly the same, I was on Detailing world all the time, hunting for the New best thing.
You can do some serious cash on products, everyone has their favourite.
(I just applied a coat of the Double speed wax , and found it quite difficult to work with) ?

I find it goes on/off easy, provided the prep has been done and also using a soft microfibre pad or foam applicator. I have found that a little of it spreads well so be sure not to get too much onto the applicator at once to make life easier. I even use it on the bike, works a treat.

Their Hydra Wax is easier to apply being liquid based but, it will not last as long as the paste version. I do 800-900 miles weekly (have done so for the last 8 years) so the products get a true real world test and I can only wash my cars at the weekends (which is a ritual).

I used an applicator pad, I think I possibly put to much of the product on .
Out of interest how long do you leave the wax on , before removing it ?

Not on mine. I didn’t know there was a problem with this colour!?

With regards products I’ve stopped purchasing new items of something I already have. For instance I have several waxes to use up but can’t get through them. Just a waste. I only buy things I run out of now.

I think you can buff it off after hazing, but, I tend to do the whole car and then begin buffing (if weather is looking questionable) or, leave it upto and hour before buffing if the weather is good.

That’s the first I’ve heard of it. My car is perfect. I would have thought it would have happened by now if it was going to.

I do get minor hazing if I don’t keep up with the polishing but it’s unnoticeable really.

When I used to ride bikes, many years ago now, (80's & 90's) - even worked for a Honda Dealership in SA - I used to use Mr Sheen with Anti-Static because the air was very dry there and if you used normal polish the dust just almost jumped over you hand and back onto the paint! But with Mr Sheen this didn't happen and it really shined - and you could use it on everything! I even carried a tin of it with a cloth under my saddle...lol.. :D

Here is a photo of my first bike.... Bought it brand new! I used to ride from Welkom to Harare quite often, quite a trek and no motorways so I used to not ride late into the night because of the animals on the road, so I used to stop off overnight at a motel in Musina near the border. It was about a thousand miles.

Ahh...reminded me of Hotel Golden Orange - I was involved with work on Western Holdings Gold Mine back in the 80s.
