Been following these guys for awhile, would like to see them live
Mercedes SL500 R231
Foil Arms & Hog - love it! A great Irish production
@Blobcat i've seen them live twice here in London, very good show!
You realise you’re not old enough for a Mercedes
Haha I know....and an estate too! I can assure you that's not the first time I have heard (nor will it probably be the last).
But with all of that in mind, I could fit 3 wakeboards (with bindings) and a hydrofoil board (fin removed) + some baggage in the boot a couple of weeks ago. Exactly what I bought it for so I am a happy camper
I was 27 when I bought my first Eclass estate, they are brilliant load luggers and eat miles for trips, wife and I have even slept in ours before now on Europe trips
In the beginning I was aware that people looked at me as though they presumed I was well off because of the make of car I drove. Fifty thousand miles later, that's mostly gone away over the years although the car still shines up nicely and I'm quite happy to be recognised in the places where I choose to let it go for service etc. And I'm still conscious that the car has a genuine street presence (just a C estate S203 Avant Garde) and continue to be glad I bought it.
Same here.. I feel a little pretentious in my car too.. little do people know, it's a banger at 191k miles and I paid less for it than they car they are in. I also feel like get a lot of nasty gestures if I seem to make even the slightest of mistakes compared to my last car.
There are more Mercs of some kind on the road now than there ever have been ..... Merc justr are good at 'selling' cars on contract
Got too many envious glances, so I swapped my Trabant for a Wartburg, with dark tinted windows.
Try a Porsche if your think that’s bad
I just let them go, you’re sat in the Mercedes, they’re still trying
I really am not bothered by what other people think, like Russ I just let them go. If they want to be in front, fine, I would rather have them there than behind me.
They are capacious, I will probably get an E wagon next
The only car I've ever worried about concerning image was an XJ6. I went to see a client in one and when entering the gates of the premises instead of parking in front of the building as usual...I instinctively turned the other way and parked out of sight. Don't know why, I just felt "too much".
The Porsche is lovely with a nice deep loud exhaust and certainly still turns heads.
But my CL is special...I haven't seen another one for months...and neither have most other people who see mine...but I love that!
Mine is old and tatty.
Thing with a CL is you can hide in it which you can’t in a Bentley or Porsche. They are so understated people don’t realise what they are
True that.. "just another merc.."
