Hi,

I just wondered if anyone had any experience removing the colour coded plastic covers that cover the sill and jacking holes?
The jacking points are rusty and I wanted to see how the rest of the sills were but it is a massive job?
How would rusted jacking points effect the strength of the car?
So many questions so thanks for your time reading!

2002 SL500, 216 CL500, all fully loaded
I fitted them some 20 years ago,, they are only held on with plastic fasteners and the odd screw, and come off easily.

They are structural and part of the MOT but they are not allowed to remove the plastic to look

There is a combination of screws and plastic clips, remove all the screws and slide the panel (forwards I think) to disengage the key hole slots from the posts on the plastic clips.
This fixing method is common to all the added on plastic side trim pieces.
