So.. i'm only curious, on this slow Friday morning.

The guys says this S600L Brabus is not a factory built Brabus, but he went to Brabus and had them fit the body kit and tune it up. He says possibly has the paper work to prove it.

Is it possible to get a Brabus MB "new", in the same way an AMG comes out? i.e. Will the Brabus spec come up on the MB build sheet (using VIN)?

Or is it the case that Brabus just take MB cars and fit them aftermarket - so it doesn't matter that this car might have it done when 10 years old, versus brand new retail?

Reg is S60 OMT (total car check link) btw.

Dare I say this is the fastest car you would ever buy for £15k..

EDIT: I think isn't the real real deal.. when looking this article. https://www.topspeed.com/cars/brabus/2007-brabus-v12-s-class-ar2231.html

EDIT EDIT: Perhaps it could be part of their customisation program, albeit not the top of the line bored out 6.2 V12.. According this this: https://www.supercars.net/blog/2005-brabus-s600-sv12s-biturbo/

Ad says it's a remap Conor, so the owner has had Brabus or whoever do this and had Brabus glitzy bits fitted. Cost must have been high, so at £15k he's probably losing quite a bit. IIRC some MB dealers will fit Brabus parts and warranty etc won't be affected, or he could have gone to an authorised Brabus dealer. Lot of car for the dosh but potentially costly in the future at 150k miles. Mot history is very good apart from the mis spaced number plates! Brabus do sell brand new stuff and seem to change the model number to one of theirs and I'm sure I've read that they have a Brabus VIN as well, but could be wrong.

What a car!
If I owned that car I would need to experience it at high speed.
So, a trip to Germany would be ideal, imagine the sun coming up and opening the taps on an empty autobahn as you head down the 500 Palatinate into the Black Forest and the Alps as a final destination off in the distance.

To the above post:
Sorry, "500 Palatinate" was a bit obscure, I just googled it expecting to find what I meant. I didn't find anything to help clarify it.

So to explain that, I meant the B500 in Germany, what a road! Just right for a monster like that Brabus. Of course you'd need to use a few autobahns between there and here.

I agree you would want to experience those trips.

Would be an insane car alright.

I've decided that if I was ever going to buy a 600 it will be a C215/216 with M275 engine. While I don't usually go for Coupes the CL is a beauty imho.

I've also heard from a respected indie on here that they can be quite pricey to maintain (any 600).

* Gaskets having a tough life being baked in engine bay.
* driveline components having a hard life
* Bushings etc

I agree, the CL is gorgeous. I have looked at one a few times, but timidly put my fearful wallet back in my jeans and walked away.

There's very little space in the engine bay with the V8 - certainly access either side of the engine is very restricted any issues with turbo chargers or manifolds requiring a full engine removal.
With a V12 there can't be much space between the engine and the radiator fan.
I'd imagine that even renewing the ancillary belt would be difficult.
