There is an oil leak on the back corner of the transmission. I think it's coming from where a wire goes into the trans; either that or it's the pan gasket. The number on the plug (I think) is 201 545 00 30 but I cant find anything about it on google (see pictures). My best guess is that it is the magnet switch (based on the parts diagram below) but I'm really flying blind here. I assume all I need is a new rubber ring and the leak is all gone ...

Thanks ...

PS and thanks to everyone that helped me choose the oil!

A quick google says that it is the reversing light switch. It appears to be cheap enough to replace in any event but I would also replace the pan gasket.

Sorry Col, can't really help with this transmission....I only have experience of the 722.6 and that's because it's the one in my MB. But I'd 100% support the idea of new gasket's an seal's where applicable.

My switch that's leaking is on the other side of the transmission (actually coming out the back)

twas me would go about sealing that switch/sensor ,cant see pt no on yr pic,of listing? then see whats happenin , why b/about with trans sump if not required and one never knows bolt shears ,thread spoils another drama maybe avoided,
think thats reverse, switch or temp sensor doubt its watchin anything going around as in wrong plane for that ? but tbh dont know function if you google that pt nu maybe you get a better picture.

seen it switch magnet guess its looking at reverse of telling dash display what gear yr in. if not shouldered mark it and count turns when removing it may need to be a specific distance from what its trying to look at. be ready to catch any oil that comes out and put it back, tho it looks at about or just above oil level? which is more convenient than benz would normally organise it.
i would clean it carefully with a little thinner and wipe dry(the threads) switch and casing, then apply a little sealer on threads .

Copy & paste the part number into Google and the first results are the same part number except for the last two digits. These numbers indicate variations and developments, the first six digits define the component.

This is what the plug looks like - got it undone ... still struggling to find anything useful on Google. Both the male and the female sides in the pictures below ...

Are you sure that's where it's leaking? There's a lot of oil above that.
